Safety Policy

Safemates Safety Policy

 

    • All staff at Safemates are CRB checked and receive on-going training in health and safety issues.
    • Safemates work with specialist organisations to have understanding of issues that may affect members.
    • Safemates keep up to date on all relevant legislation.
    • If there are concerns Safemates may ask for a referral from a care manager or appropriate care provider.
    • Any member who is proven to physically or sexually abuse another member of Safemates will lose their right to attend future events. All crimes or suspected crimes will be reported to the police.
    • Verbal abuse will not be tolerated and may result in the loss of the right to attend future events, consideration will be given to members who have challenging behaviour or communication difficulties.
    • Events have a sufficient number of staff to manage the event.
    • The first one-to-one meetings are chaperoned by Safemates.
    • If people want to meet again Safemates will support members to get the support to do this.
    • Abuse or discrimination of any member on the grounds of disability, race, colour, religion, sexuality, gender will not be tolerated and result in the losing of the right to attend future events. All crimes or suspected crimes will be reported to the police.
    • Safemates will strive to make sure all information is accessible to all members.
